Introduction: Banana Layered Pie
This recipe makes one 9-inch pie.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups cold milk
1 package (6 -serving size) Jell-o Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding and Pie Filling
1 baked (Step 1 will deal with an unbaked) 9-inch pie shell
2 medium bananas
1/2 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
Lemon Juice
As stated above Step 1 will show how to cook an unbaked pie shell. My local store only sells unbaked ones. So just skipped Step 1 If you don't need it.
Step 1: Step 1- Bake Pie Shell
1. Preheat oven to 400* F.
2. Remove frozen crust from package and let defrost (about 15 minutes).
3. Thoroughly prick bottom and sides of pie shell crust with a fork.
4. Place the pie shell on bake sheet and back on middle oven rack for 10-12 minutes, or until light brown.
5. Let the pie shell cool.
6. After the pie shell has cooled completely, pour desired filling into crust.
Step 2: Step 2- Mixing
Pour cold milk into bowl. Add pie filling mix. With electric mixer at low speed, beat until blended, about 1 minute.
Step 3: Step 3- Filling the Pie Shell
Pour 1/2 cup of the pie filling into pie shell. Slice 1 banana; arrange slices on filling shell. Top with 3/4 cup of the pie filling.
Step 4: Step 4- That's COOL
Blend the COOL WHIP Whipped Topping into the remaining pie filling. Spread over filling pie shell. Chill about 3 hours.
Step 5: Step 5- Finish
Slice remaining banana; brush the slices with lemon juice. Arrange banana slices on pie. Garnish with additional COOL WHIP, if desired.
