Step 1: Get the Stuff

To make a bean jar safe, you need: 2 toilet paper tubes 1 Standard mason jar 238 grams (1 1/3 cups) of dried beans Scissors Tape 1 piece of paper

Step 2: Put It Together

First, cut a circle out of the paper about the same size as the bottom as the jar. Then take a paper tube and tape it to the center of the paper. Next, cut a hole in the other tube the size of the end, like in the picture. Then put the contraption into the jar and pour the beans into the jar. Then just put your valuables in the jar and put the lid on. Cool!

This is so cool -- I'm definitely making some of these, using different dried beans and split peas.
