Becoming a Muji Meal Man

While in the mothership Muji in Tokyo, a friend admired the unique headdress of the Muji meal men, so I captured the unique method of creating this look, in order for us to recreate it when home. This is an easy step by step guide on how to look like a Muji meal man!

Step 1: Step 1

Fold Square scarf in half in front of you

Step 2: Step 2

Place folded scarf on head

Step 3: Step 3

Wrap scarf around your head holding the ends tightly

Step 4: Step 4

Tie tightly at the front

Step 5: Step 5

Ensure the knot is tight enough

Step 6: Step 6

This is how the back should look!

Step 7: Step 7

Tuck the extra material up into the tight bit

Step 8: Done

tadaaa!!! I recommend to accompany with Muji pizza bread and Muji beer! Many thanks to our Muji pal!

are those scarves available for purchase at muji? It seems really helpful for when i need to do work outside in the heat. Like a keffiyah without the social implications.

I love Muji. a very cool store that I used to frequent once a month when I lived in Tokyo. modern designs and reasonable price. I would compare it to Ikea but without the huge range and 20 versions of one thing.

hehe... I like the idea of giving people an incentive to do their own research, I really do. In this case, though, the first page of google really contains nothing useful to explain what a muji man is. From the pictures, I would have assumed muji was a pizza place. From wikipedia, I'm led to believe it's this company which makes pretty much everything, and is known for its well-designed eco-friendly-packed brandname/logo-free goods. Sounds like a nice company. I've still got no idea what that has to do with the muji man in this instructable though. Nice try!

No, that's a subtle hint to make the effort to look things up yourself. :) Google is your friend.
