About: Honorary Professor University Ghent

Zahra Ali Husain and some of her friends have set up a "bottle tower project" in a Govt. Girls School in Karachi (Pakistan).  Pupils of Grade 4 and 5 learned how to build towers with otherwise discarded bottles.  They filled the bottles with potting soil and planted seedlings of vegetables and flowers in pockets cut in the bottles' wall.  This project aims at showing children how to grow fresh food in recycled bottles. Vertical container gardening at its best.

interesting. My method is slightly different (putting a seed on top of soil, rather than a sprout inside a fully filled bottle, but your method may be better. Will try that with my next tower
