Step 1: Step 1: Cutting to Size
Cut the brass so you have a 100mm bar and file the edges so you don't cut yourself, is easier to cut with the saw if there is a grove made with a triangular file
Step 2: Step 2: Bend in Half
marc the piece in the middle and try to bend it there, if you don't ben it exactly in the middle its ok just try your best, bending it switching between the vice grip and the bench vice until your pice is 1cm wide, remember that the metal has a spring effect so heat it with de blow torch so the brass doesn't spring back.
Step 3: Step 3: Twist
Now is the fun part grab the pice in the bench vice with something in de middel so you grab tigth on to the picece but you dont bend it more use something that can get heated i use an old drill bit. Now grab tigt the top with the locking pliers and heate the pice with the blow torch fot about 1 minut now try to twits the pice in my cases i did half turn but you can do as you wish you can also go back a bit at the so the spiral looks open in the main picture you can see i did the other on like this.
Step 4: Step 4: Finishing
Now you can and your personal touch you key ring is made but it looks way better if you do some touch up like cutting the excess with the metal saw, also you can change the shapes with different file shapes and remove scratches you may created with the vices you like the shape and remove the marks you dont like you can start sanding to give a finish i don't recommend a shiny finish as the brass rust quickly, i like it rough so it locks age, but fell free to try it. you can even polish it
