Introduction: Build a Test Tube Stand
Care to build a test tube stand..?
I had some a few test tubes and i wanted to build a stand for the so this is what i came up with. I looked at a few different designs on the internet and most were quite similar. I chose to make basically the simplest one I could. Most test tubes stands that you would buy would be made from either an acid/base resistant plastic or a hardwood such as Iroko which can whithstand most acid and base spills.
I chose to make this out of pine because it was cheaper and worked more easily than hardwood. I also didn't have any Iroko or similar wood and I don't know where I would be able to find it rather cheaply. As well, the tools I have aren't the most durable and if I tried to make something out of a very hard wood I'm not sure how well they would stand up. And if the stand did somehow manage to get damaged in use or something then seeing as the cost to make it was low, I could easily replace it.
And as shown in the last pictures, you don't need to have any test tubes to make this..
it works just as well with pencils or a toothbrush :)
and if you like it then dont hesitate to give me a vote :)
