Bullet Ring

About: I always liked making stuff and when my grandfather showed me Instructables I became an addict. I don't have any degrees yet but I'm working on my aeronautics engineering degree :-P

My father and i was thinking about an idea of how to make a ring from a bullet and he came up with this.

In this guide i will show you how to recycle an old bullet shell into a very cool ring.

Step 1: Materials

- One used empty bullet shell.

- Drill

- Saw

- Sand paper and polish paper

- Pliers

- File

Step 2: Sawing the Shell

As you can see the top of the shell in narrower than the rest of it and we will need to cut this part.

Put the bullet in your drill with its narrow part sticking outside and cut it using your saw.

Step 3: Sanding and Polishing

Insert half of the shell into the drill and spin it while pressing it with the sand paper.

Do the same with the other side and again with the polish paper. Do the same with the bottom.

Step 4: Cutting Bending and Finishing

As you can see in the photo i marked two lines on the shell, we will now cut those using the saw, the less you saw the smaller the ring will be and it will stand out more.

Now choose two opposite edges and cut them.

Then use pliers to bend the two remaining outside and form a ring shape.

Use the file to clean sharp edges and polish everything again.

And here you have it- bullet ring

cool idea. I suppose it is more comfortable like that but i prefer the look of the metal..
