I'm making this tonight but took some shortcuts like using a food processor, using preserved, diced tomatoes & grinding the onions/garlic/nuts before frying them. We didn't happen left over tandoori so I'm frying chicken with Indian type spices in a cast iron pan first & then going to fry the onion mixture in the chicken drippings for extra flavor. I'm already drooling, as are my other half & our hairy kid. Thanks so much for the recipe! Much simpler than I even realized!

Finally done & it tasted incredible :-) Just wanted to give a tip in case anybody is in the same situation as me making this dish. My tomatoes weren't naturally sweet tasting enough even though I threw in some fresh with the canned, so I added a bit of coconut sugar & roasted red peppers to the sauce. It made a huge difference in the overall flavor. Just finished a huge bowl with basmati rice & am happy & stuffed. Will definitely make this recipe again - using the exact techniques recommended here instead of shortcuts - & play around with the spices. Thanks again for this amazing recipe! We all loved it!

Actually it was you who motivated me to do this dish. Thank you very much Juliart :)

Looks good to me, not sure my husband would agree. Definitely going to make the rice pudding though. I love rice pudding. And with the dates and the nuts it's almost a meal in itself. It would make a great breakfast. =)
