Buzz Lightyear Laser

Introduction: Buzz Lightyear Laser

About: I am a Software Engineer who likes to tinker with many different technologies. One motto I try to live by is " I can stop learning when I die".

I built these two items to go along with the Buzz Lightyear Jetpack that I made as my son's halloween costume. These two accessories were mostly 3D printed on my Prusa i3 Mk3 printer. Let me know what you think.

Step 1: Design and Build

I designed these in TinkerCAD. The designs can be found here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3215029). It was a very simple setup. The wiring was standard 22 gauge wire, a standard LED, pushbutton (any will do) and a 3.7v lipo battery. The battery was salvaged from an old mini drone that I had. Please watch the videos and let me know what you think. To hold the communicator's cover I used zip ties and to seal up the laser and hold the LED cover I used simple super glue.

This could also be easily modified to be Syndrome's controller from the Incredibles.

If you'd like, grab the files and use them. I can make public my tinkercad files and send you the link if you'd like. I only ask for a shoutout (one mention of my username here) if you do. It was a fun thing to figure out and my son still plays with them.
