I had an old CD player lying around and a LED and thought about combining the two. What resulted was a simple mini light show, if I had different colored LEDs then it may have looked better. The only LED I had was a red one, but it still worked out fine.

Step 1: Materials

LED(mine is a red one)
cd player(try to have one that you can break like an old one)
cd
tape
battery

Step 2: Combining CD PLayer and LED

First unscrew the led screen from the top part and break it off of the rest of the cd player.
Then take the led which is attached to the battery and tape or glue it onto the cd.
You may have to rig up the part that allows the cd to spin once the top is closed. On mine it is a little button that was pushed down from closing the cd player, so I just pushed a little cardboard onto it to keep it down.

Step 3: Start the Show

Once you have everything ready and the cd spinning go to a dark room or semi dark room and the LED will spin around creating a cool effect.
I used the mode on my camera that exposes over a longer time which resulted in the pics that have the swirls.
I will probably retry this but experiment with different LEDs to get cooler effects.
