Introduction: Carbon Tape Faraday Cage

About: DIY carbon heated clothing.

You are feeling like a spy?
Someone watching your coordinates via mobile phone? You don't want someone to call you now? Yes, you are a spy and you need a secret pocket to shild your phone. Of course you could buy a special protective pouch, but it may arouse suspicion...

Make one of your pockets a Faraday cage using the carbon fiber tape (and now on Amazon). This is very simple and fast. See how easy it is.

Step 1: Now To...

Gently unpick the lining of your jacket.

Turn the pocket inside out.

Wrap pocket with Iron-on no-sew hem tape and carbon tape.

Gently iron it.

Step 2: Say Nobody

Sew lining. Faraday secret pocket is ready.

In the event of danger place a phone in the secret pocket. Your phone will disappear from the telephone network. No one can call you. Nobody will be able to determine your location or overhear you. No one will know that you are using the Faraday cage. Because it is a soft carbon tape, no one will distinguish it from a normal fabric, no one uncover you. –°ause you're a spy.

Micheal Faraday is one of my farvorite scientists. Really love this!

Not to be critical, but this is not actually a faraday cage. A faraday cage protects against levels of electromagnetic radiation. They are carefully designed and connected to a good ground in multiple places to prevent the electromagnetic radiation from reaching it. If it was a true faraday cage you could put the phone in a microwave and it would be okay.

Good 'ible though, since it works for your purposes. Interesting that carbon tape works that way. I often wonder why it isn't much more commonplace with all its uses.

Yes, I know, but it has become a tradition to call such a device a Faraday cage.

I love that the brand of your blazer changes from the La Djotto Collection to the James Bond Collection. Great information!

    Very cool idea!

Only 1 thing though. It called a Faraday Cage not gage.

Based on the idea to keep something protected electrically.

It was invented by the scientist Michael Faraday in 1836.

But like I said, very cool. Thanks!!!!
