Also known as carrot and swede mash.

For my American cousins, the swede is also known as a rutabaga

Step 1: You Will Need ...

Carrots

Swede / Rutabaga

(both in equal quantities)

Cold water

Butter / Margerine

Saucepan

Masher

No salt

Step 2: Peel and Chop Veggies

Peel and chop veggies in equal quantities and about the same size.

The boil until soft

Step 3: Strain

Strain water from pan (save this is making a gravy)

Step 4: Mash With Butter

Add a generous knob of butter and mash until there are no large lumps left, than mash a little more if you like.

Check taste, add more butter and a pinch of seasoning if required

Step 5: Enjoy

Serve with your Sunday lunch or with other veggies during the week
