Introduction: Cat Litter Protection Box

About: We are 2 jewelry designers from Switzerland, Isabel and Naomi. We met each other a couple of years ago and when we put our minds together, we create lots of different things. Our jewelry is made from up-cyc...

For those of you who have a cat in an appartement, you all know how annoying cat litter can be. For this reason we made a cat litter protection box, so that the cat litter stays in the box and doesn't move into your appartement space :-).

What you need to make this box is: wood, nails or screws, paint, 2 handles and saw.

Step 1: Assemble the Pieces and Your Protection Box Is Done.

Cut your wood in 4 pieces of the same size 0.75 m x 1,5 m and two additional pieces 0.75 m x 0.75 m. Make an entrance, in one of the larger pieces. Paint the pieces in the color you want. Attach the all the pieces except for the top, with your nails or screws. Attach the handles at the piece that you want to use as a cover.

Put the litter box inside your box and close it. Now the cats will go inside the box to use the litter box. The little will stay behind :-)

We hope you like the Instructable. If you do, please vote for us.

We were worried about that too. What we did was let them use it for a day without the top on, so they could get used to it. But they liked it right away.

I have a cloth mat below the scratch box where the cat wipes her feet. The only problem is that when she wipes her feet, she kicks the litter into my nearby shoes! This is a very easy and good solution.

    Thanks for posting!

That is such a clever idea! I don't have cats (I'm allergic) :( but if I did I would definetily use this!

This cover will also prevent my dog from getting to the tasty truffles that my cat leaves behind!

Brilliant! My cats through litter all over the place. Something like this might actually keep it under control.
