Introduction: Ceramic Owl Sculpture
So someone who have known me quite a long did give me a call and told that she wanted me to make her a ceramic sculpture. Owl sculpture, but not anything psychedelic (I do not know why she said that.. but she did) but it had to still look like it was made by me.
this customer didn't want to see work-in-progress photos, but thankfully I did still take some and even made a video of me working.
I'm not sure, but I think I made it from Craft Crank clay, it's quite rough stuff and fit's good for my style of sculptures.
Because customer wasn't interested to see anything before the ready piece of art I didn't make any drawings on paper... I just took the clay and led my hands do the magic.
it took days to finish the sculpting part and I did make some mistakes there.. but finally I got the look.
but after kiln I wasn't happy.. sure the owl did look right but color was wrong.. and I wonder quite a long time what to do.. or actually I wondered do I dare to use magical ceramic smoking method with custom order owl.
but.. after all.. I'm happy I did.
I make someday, when I have my own studio/workshop and I don't have to borrow space... where ever I find.. then I make a video or time lapse of whole project from first touch of clay to all finished.
