I love potatoes. They are so versatile and are used in so many recipes. They can be made into complex dishes or simple recipes. This is a very simple but delicious dish. It only takes about an hour to make and requires very few ingredients. This cheesy potato dish makes an easy and delicious dinner.

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients:
5-7 Russet Potatoes
Cheddar Cheese
Sour Cream
Butter
Cooking Spray

Materials:
Knife
9 by 9 inch pan

Step 2: Prepare the Potaotes

Peel the skin off of all the potatoes that you plan on using. Cut the potatoes into thin slices. The slices don't have to be supper thin but they can't be extremely thick. I used a mix of both thick and thin but it is really up to you.

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole

Spray the pan with cooking spray or grease it with butter. Take the potato slices and cover the bottom of the pan. Make sure that most of the bottom is covered. Spread little dots of sour cream over the layer of potatoes. Next, take several small pieces of butter and drop them on the potatoes. FInish the layer by sprinkling cheddar cheese over the potatoes. Repeat this step until there are 3 layers of everything. Top it with a final layer of potatoes. To finish, sprinkle the top with a thick layer of cheddar cheese.

Step 4: Baking

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. The cheese on the top of the casserole should be a bubbling and gold.
