Introduction: Chicken and Dumplings, Easy Mode

About: Hi everyone! Likely the most vocal member of Manufactured Fear, here. Welcome to our little twisted corner of the universe. We specialize in crafting the things that go bump in the night. And food, because t...

Unfortunately, my Mom's skill with cooking didn't get passed down to me. So after trying to follow homemade chicken and dumplings recipes to know avail. My poor roommate was getting sick of being my guinea pig. I finally came up with a recipe anyone can make. Enjoy!

Step 1: Supplies

For the Soup you'll need:
3 cans of Condensed Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup.
Large saucepan pan with a lid.

For the Dumplings:
Mixing bowl
1 cup measuring cup
1/3 cup measuring cup

Step 2: Soup

Empty all three cans of soup into your pot. Fill one can up twice with water and add it to your pot. Heat to a boil, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Dumplings

Fill the 1 cup with Bisquick mix, then fill the 1/3 cup with milk and add it to your Bisquick. Mix.

My mix turned out a little dry this time. I fix that by adding milk by the teaspoon full till the mix is doughy. Like in my last picture.

I make my dumplings about palm sized. So you can start to divide the mix up as much as will fit in the bowl. Makes the next step easier.

Step 4: C-c-c-c-combo!

When your soup mix is at a rolling boil(rough bubbling). Divide your dumpling mix into palm sized balls. Add them to the soup pot one at a time. After you get them in the mix reduce your heat to medium.

Step 5: Simmer

Simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Simmer Some More

Add the lid and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. At the end of the ten minutes you can see how the edges of dumplings are starting to get soft. That's how you know it's done.

Step 7: Enjoy!

I'd rather Instructable my food than instagram it.

Trust me, if I can make this, you basically can't mess it up. And it tastes so good. My roommate's also probably glad I'm not trying to poison him with inedible dinners anymore.

Enjoy the quickest, easiest dumplings ever!

You can get a full sized chicken, and cut it up your self, or buy one precut put it in a pan cover with water. Cook for a hour on the stove. Take chicken out and put on plate, use the fluid left to make gravy, thicken up with flour and water mixture, add couple of drops of yellow food coloring, or you leave that out, cook over medium heat and continually stir until it has thickened. Then put chicken back in pan and add your dumplings made with bisquick, cook over medium heat with lid off for 10 minutes and then with lid on for 10 minutes. And it's done. Yum
