The shape of the Chinese crown knot lends itself to this project
I used 3' of 3/16" cord.
Take the right hand strand over the left
and make a bight underneath the same cord
Take the other strand and bring it up underneath three - and down over two and through the bight
Adjust the bight to the desired shaape
Take the left hand cord and make a "S" shape
Bring the end up and down over, under, over the "S"
Then up under three
Then down over two and through the bight. Adjust the size of the loop
Take the right hand cord and make a "S"
And bring the end up and down over, under, and over the "S"
Bring the cord up under the three strands of the "S"
and down over two and through the bight. Adjust the size of the loop
Bring the right hand cord over . . .
And make a bight under the other cord
Bring that other cord up under three
and down over two and through the bight
repeat the above steps making two more crowns
There are many ways to finish.
Leave the ends alone.
