Step 1: Things You Need!
Unsalted butter - 8 ounces, 2 sticks brown sugar - 11/4 cup
Eggs, room temperature - 2
Cocoa powder - 1/2 cup
All purpose flour - 2 1/4 cups
Salt - 1/4 tsp
(if you're using salted butter, you can omit salt)
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Semi sweet chocolate chips - 2 cups
Step 2: Mixing!
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and beat in well. Make sure the eggs are incorporated fully.
Mix in the cocoa powder. The batter will start to thicken. Scrap down sides of needed. Add flour, salt, baking powder and mix till well combined . Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula. Transfer the dough to a work surface and knead by hand to make sure all the ingredients are combined.
Step 3: Bake It!
Divide the dough into equal balls and shape them as you like! You can flatten to disc for crisper cookies. Or leave them rough on top. Preheat oven to 350'F, bake them for 20 mins maximum. Cool them for 20 minutes and store in air tight containers.
Step 4: Enjoy!!
