This is a great, easy, quick recipe, also instead of orange chocolate I sometimes just use plain chocolate.
Step 1: Preparation...
For your ingredients you will need:
50g/2oz caster sugar
100g/3.5oz light Muscavado sugar
300g/10oz self-raising flour
2 tbsp milk
175g/6oz orange-flavoured dark chocolate, roughly chopped (optional)
50g/2oz pecan nuts, very roughly chopped (optional)
Step 2: Step 1.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit), GAS 4/ fan oven 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit). Line 2 or 3 baking trays with non-stick brown paper.
Step 3: Step 2.
In a bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Stir in the Chocolate and nuts (optional).
Step 4: Step 3.
Divide the mixture into 18 equal portions. Roughly shape each portion into a ball. Put on a the baking sheets well apart to allow for spreading. Lightly flatten, but not completely!, each biscuit with your fingertips.
Step 5: Step 4.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cookies are pale golden around the edges, but still feel soft in the center. Cool for 5 minutes on baking tray, and then transfer on to a wire rack to allow to cool a little more before eating.
