Classic Propellor




Build a classic propellor. Remember your toy from your childhood. Have fun building the classic propellor with your kids!

Step 1: Things You Need:

You will need a block of wood and a dowel by these demensions.

Step 2: Draw:

Draw on the block the following.

Step 3: Shave...

Shave away the wood.

Step 4: Sand

Sand the propellor.

Step 5: Drill:

Drill a whole in the middle of the propellor to the size of your dowel.

Step 6: Dowel...

Put the dowel in the drilled hole, and glue it.

Step 7: Fly Your Propellor...

Hold the propellor in your hands and slide your right hand forward, and your left backward, and watch the propellor fly. It can fly over 20 feet.

    add more carving detail ......I have shown scouts how to carve these and someone always carves them the same way on both sides ..please add some carving safety tips push the knife away from yourself ...ect,very nice job on it ..

    i had forgotten about his toy! Thank you for a great guide! the props can be made with a rasp without need of knife or whittling... i wasn't allowed to use sharp stuff, but gramps let me use rasps all day long.

    yah! and some wings and a stabilizer, and a payload compartment, and make it bigger!

    Agreed. great idea, but it needs more detail in the description of the process. Cool idea, though. I had a few of there as a kid (made out of plastic) and something like this would be really cool for my 3 year old niece to play with.
