Introduction: Cleaning/Decorating Your Room

Hopefully your room doesn't look quite this bad, if it does then this is definitely for you!

Step 1: Step 1: Gather Supplies

All you need is...
  • Determination (lots of it)
  • Scotch Tape
  • Old Calendars
  • Oat Meal or other Round Containers
  • Shoe Boxes

Step 2: Step 2: Put Clothes Away

Put dirty clothes in the hamper, hang up dresses, fold your clothes, ect. Anything you do with your clothes, do it now. With my dress clothes I like to organize them from shortest to longest. I also hang up my school shirts in order by color. These may just be little OCD things I do, but it really helps me locate certain items when I'm in a rush. Say you have a specific dress that you always wear a certain top with, hang up that top with the dress. FOLD YOUR CLOTHES!!! It may seem like a waste of time, but you can fit a lot more in one dresser draw if everything's nice and orderly. If you happen to have a shortage of pants/skirt hangers, put two pairs on one hanger. Use hooks to hang up your jackets. Get rid of clothes that you never wear or put certain clothes away that are too big. Just make sure that whatever you do is easy and you can still find stuff. Take your time to make everything look nice.

Step 3: Step 3: Throw Away Trash

Anything you don't use/ want/ need, throw away!

Step 4: Step 4: Box and Store

So there's some stuff you don't use that often but every once in a while you need it, put it in a shoe box and decorate the shoe box. Old magazines or maybe your duct tape collection can all be stowed nearly away, where you can find it, but where other people don't necessarily have to. Instead of decorating my boxes, Iut them in an unused corner where nobody sees them. I happen to have a lot of hats, but few good places to store them, so taking the oat meal can i wrapped it in a calendar picture and secure with tape. Now I have a unique original set of hat stands. In the container I can also put duct tape, ribbon and other various craft items I use regularly.

Step 5: Step 5: Just Plain Straighten Up

Put your shoes nicely in a row, have specific place for your backpack, put your pens all in a cup, stack your books, ect. It's simple and easy to do, and it's probably the easiest thing to do.

Step 6: Step 6: Make Your Bed

Now that everything's put away, your room feels much nicer, but it's still rather messy looking. The one thing that's left to do is to make your bed. This will instantly improve everythig and your room will be complete.

Step 7: Step 7: Decorate!!!

Now that everything is nice and neat, it's your turn to go crazy. All i did was tape more calendar pics to my walls. One ugly wall is now covered with pics of horses. Hang up dream catchers, set out candles. The possibilities are endless! Do what you want to make your room more YOU! Have fun?
