Cold Casting Metallic Powders

About: One day I shall own a Delorean.

Cold casting metallic powders is something a lot of people want to know how to do, the old school way of doing it was to use metal powders mixed with the resin or done in the same way as this video. then you polish the surface to remove a little bit of resin and shine the metal underneath. this method uses powders I got from smooth on and also powders I got from ebay so I can compare the 2 finishes. Obviously outside the US the ebay powders are cheaper but are they as good? we find out in this video.

Materials used in this video are as follows

Polycraft Silicone

bondit silicone release spray

Polycraft Black Polyurethane Casting Resin

Smoothon Cast Magic Gold Finger

Smoothon Cast Magic silver bullet

Ebay Powders came from Killablitz who have their own website

I use a silicone two part mould in this video and you can find out how that was made by clicking here.
