Dale tu toque personal, diferente y divertido a la entrada de nuevo año con estos gorritos hechos por ti en tamaño mini y tamaño estándar. Este detalle hará sentir a tus invitados muy especiales.

Today Rie Plaza brings us a very interesting DIY for our celebrations.

Give it your personal, different and fun touch to welcoming the new year with this party hats done by yourself in mini and standard size. This detail will make your guests feel very special.

Step 1: Materiales

Los materiales a utilizar, disponibles en mercerías y papelerías, son:

Cartulinas satinadas en tamaño 8 1/2 x 11
Silicón líquido
Tijeras
Elástico fino
Pompones de brillo en diferentes tamaños y colores
Marcadores de colores estándar y metálicos
Patrón para corte y/o impresión
Silicon liquido o caliente
Grapadora (opcional)

The materials you’ll need are available in any haberdashery and stationery:
Satin cardstocks in 8 ½” x 11” size
Liquid silicone or hot silicone
Scissors
Fine elastic
Glitter pompons in different sizes and colors
Standard and metallic color markers
Cut and print templates
Stapler (optional)

Step 2: Selecciona Los Colores Del Gorrito

Para empezar selecciona los colores que quieres usar en tu fiesta de fin de año, los clásicos son el dorado-negro-plateado pero puedes ser atrevido combinando otros colores.

Haz un conteo de tus invitados y planifícate para algunos extras. Las hojas de tamaño 8 ½ x 11 rinden para 1 gorrito tamaño estándar o para 2 gorritos tamaño mini.

De no encontrar la cartulina satinada en los colores deseados en tamaño 8 ½ x 11 puedes comprar la cartulina satinada en el tamaño grande y pedir en la misma papelería asistencia para llevarla al tamaño 8 ½ x 11.

Imprime el patrón para cortar y calcar o imprime directamente en las hojas para más precisión. Corta por los bordes asegurando cortar la marca del calcado/impresión.

Start by selecting the colors that you want to use for your parties this New Year’s Eve, the classics are Gold-Black-Silver but you can be bold and combine them with different colors.
Countdown the number of guests you’ll have and plan for some extras. The 8 ½” x 11” sheets are enough to make 1 standard sized party hat or 2 mini sized party hats.

If you can’t find the 8 ½” x 11” satin cardstock in the colors that you want, you can get a normal sized cardstock and ask the store clerk for some assistance to get them into 8 ½” x 11.

Print the template to cut and trace or print directly on the sheets of paper for more precision. Cut the borders, making sure to cut the tracing/printing mark.

Step 3: Crea Tus Diseños

Una vez cortado empieza a crear tus diseños, en colores contrastantes observando dejar distancia proporcional entre columnas y filas:

Zig Zags
Estrellitas Cruces
Asteriscos
Rayitas (tipo gotas)
Puntitos
Mensajes
- Feliz año nuevo
- Feliz 20**
- Feliz año 20**
- Algún mensaje individualizado a cada invitado

Puedes usar el patrón/template del diseño que dice “This Year” o “Este año” para escribir un deseo a tus invitados o también puedes dejar la línea en blanco para que tus invitados escriban su deseo del nuevo año.

Después de que la tinta del marcador se haya secado completamente procede a darle la forma al gorrito, coloca una línea de pegamento en uno de los bordes verticales y asegura presionando que el pegamento se seque por completo.
Para el pompón del tope del gorrito aplica pegamento en el tope del cono y una fina línea en el alrededor del tope para asegurar que el pompón quede centrado en el centro. Colocar el pompón y presionar hacia abajo sujetando los bordes del cono unos 10 segundos hasta que el pompón quede ajustado al cono perfectamente. Según la idea de tus diseños puedes colocar pompones pequeños usando pegamento en la superficie del gorrito a tu gusto.

Once cut start creating your designs in contrasting colors making sure the distance is proportional bewteen the columns and the rows:

Zig Zags
Star crossing
Asterisk
Stripes (drop type)
Dots Messages :
- Happy New Year
- Happy 20**
- Happy Year 20**
- Any individualized message for each guest

You can use design template that says “This Year” or “Este año” to write a wish for your guests or you can also leave a blank space or line for your guests to write down their New Year’s wish.

After the marker’s ink has completely dried, then proceed to give the party hat a proper shape. Trace a glue line in one of the vertical borders and make sure to apply pressure until the silicone has completely dried.

For the top of the hat pompon apply glue at the top of the cone and a fine line around the top to make sure that the pompon stays centered. Place the pompon and press down while holding the borders of the cone for 10 seconds until the pompon is completely adjusted to the cone. According to your design ideas you can place smaller pompons using silicone in the surface of the hat as you please.

Step 4: Agregale El Elastico

Perfora los laterales del gorrito por lo menos a ½ pulgada del borde del cono para pasar el elástico. Mide el largo del elástico con una cabeza estándar para los mini gorritos, haz lo mismo para los gorritos estándar. Pasa el elástico por cada perforación asegurando con un nudo del lado dentro del cono que quedara oculto en cada lado y listo.

Punch two holes on each side of the party hat at least ½ an inch from the border of the cone for the elastic to pass through. Measure the length of the elastic with a standard head for the mini party hats and do the same for the standard sized party hats. Pass the elastic through each hole making sure to tie a knot on the elastic limit placed on the inside of the hat so it can stay in place and hidden.

Step 5: Resultado Final

Hemos terminado de hacer nuestros gorritos para fin de año. Disfruta con tus familiares estas importantes fechas y celebra con algo divertido.
