Concrete Garden Project: House Numbers

About: Our mission is to share the wonders of the natural world by publishing books from experts in the fields of gardening, horticulture, and natural history. Grow with us.

It's easy to decorate your exterior by adding large, charming house numbers.

You will need:

  • fine concrete
  • foam floor puzzle pieces
  • piece of board
  • oil
  • paintbrush
  • spatula
  • weights
  • file

Step 1: Begin by oiling the board and the edges of the puzzle piece with the paintbrush.

Step 2: Place a few weights on the mold to keep it from moving, then mix the concrete and fill the mold.

Step 3: Level the surface with a spatula, leaving it smooth and neat.

Step 4: Leave the concrete to set for 24 to 48 hours, depending on the size of your number.

Step 5: Carefully remove the mold.

Step 6: Smooth away any sharp edges with a file.

Great idea of using puzzle pieces as moulds. Just the right thickness.

    Nice tutorial.
