Hi!

In this instructable, you will learn how to make a DC to DC voltage Step-Up booster circuit.

Input= 3.5 v and Output= 9.20 v

Items Needed:

- 2 power transistors CTC 1351

- 2 resistors 1 kilo ohm

- 1 transformer 1 : 1

- 1 Single phase bridge rectifier

- 1 battery cell 3.7v

- 1 multi-meter

- 1 universal board

Step 1: Power Transistor:

The power transistors used here are CTC 1351.Connect them as shown in the circuit diagram.

Now take the one kilo ohm resistors.Connect one terminal of the resistor to the base of one power transistor while the other terminal of the resistor to the collector of the other power transistor.Do the same with the other resistor.

Take two similar colored wires and connect them to the collectors of both the power transistors 1351.

Step 2: Further Connections:

Take the 1:1 transformer and join one set of diagonal terminals together.

Please watch the video for referance.

Now you should have three terminals in total. One is the center tap and the other two are the endpoints of the transformer. Connect the endpoints of the transformer to the collector terminals of the power transistors.

Now take a bridge rectifier and connect its AC terminals to the end points of the transformer. Connect the emitters of the power transistors together which will be the common negative. Connect a wire to the tapping point of the transformer which will be the common positive.

Step 3: Testing the Circuit:

It's time to test the circuit & confirm if it is working or not.

Firstly take a multi-meter and check the voltage of the battery.

Now connect the positive terminal of the battery to the center tapping point of the transformer while the negative terminal of the battery to the common emitters of the power transistors.

Now check the output voltage of the rectifier as shown with the help of a multi-meter. It should reflect 9.20 Volts.

    So you sayy DC to DC but you show A/c coming out so which is it?

    first its ac which is then converted to dc after rectification !!!
