DIY Car Powered by Smartphone

About: Hello, I'm a YouTuber. Will Really appreciate if you checkout my Channel and Subscribe.

I made this Car using recycling materials like Bottle caps , Ice Cream sticks etc. Interesting thing about this Car is its powered by Smartphone. No need for a battery. Just plugin your Smartphone with OTG support and you are good to go :)

Step 1: Materials and Tools Required

I used these Items to make this

1) Plastic Bottle Caps - Used as wheels

2) Popsicle or ice cream Sticks

3) Bamboo Skewer & Plastic Straws

4) Wire, OTG Cable and a Switch

5) 2 Motors from Old DVD player or eBay

Tools I used

1) Glue Gun

2) Soldering Machine

3) Drill machine to drill holes in Bottle caps. (Can be done with a knife or Scissors)

4) Tape

Step 2: Assembly

I used hot glue to join motors to 2 rear wheels which powered the Car. Burns!! as this is a Rear wheel drive.

Then put some Hot Glue on the side of Motors to attach Popsicle sticks, which is a part of body frame.

For front wheel, I connected them using a bamboo skewer stick, as front wheels are not powered.

Again I used Popsicle sticks to join the front wheels and rear ones, hence completing the Chassis.

Step 3: Wiring

I first made a mistake of connecting both the positives and Negatives of the motor together, which resulted in powering motors in opposite directions.

Then I corrected the polarity to run each motor in the front direction of the Car.

I put some Hot glue and attached the switch to the body on side.

After some soldering the wiring process was complete.

Step 4: Completion and Running

After attaching all the wires, I attached few more Popsicle sticks on to the body make a room to put a smartphone.

Attached a few rubber bands to hold the smartphone on the Car. Finally, attached the OTG cable to the car.

Time to Hit the button and run the Car.

Check the working Car in the video above.

Hope you enjoyed the process and Loved the Car :)
