Any ideas how to make it last. The old borax slime lasted forever. This one turns hard and water comes out within days. Thanks

I tried to make slime but I just made coloured glue. I think it matters what the buffer is, my saline's buffer is sodium phosphate.

Try new container of baking soda. I couldn't figure out why mine didn't work for weeks. That solved it.

That's why we mention the ingredients Sodium borate or Boric acid, but we hadn't seen a buffered solution that didn't work, so that's good to know. Also, you have to be using PVA glue or it won't turn into slime even with the right saline.

I've never seen that wording but it should work fine, as long as it's buffered. :)

I tried to make this with four bottles (4 oz each) of glue, and even with four bottles of contact solution, the slime would not thicken! I ended up having to get borax.

Sounds like your contact solution didn't have the right ingredients. We say in each video that you need to see sodium borate or boric acid in the ingredients or the words "buffered solution" somewhere on the bottle. If you don't see any of this, your solution won't work as it doesn't have any borax in it.

Yes you can use a glue stick but make sure you use the whole glue stick.

We have never tried so don't know. If you give it a shot, we'd love to hear how it turns out!

For each 4 oz of glue you will use 1/4 tsp. of baking soda. For the shaving cream, you can add more or less depending on how fluffy you want it. With the saline, it is a "feel" thing, there aren't any measurements. We show you what you are looking for in the video as far as when to stop adding it. Hope that helps!

We heard recently that if you add shaving cream, you can leave out the baking soda, so maybe that's why? When we've tried regular slime without baking soda it would not get firm enough to handle. Thanks for letting us know!

You do need baking soda, but you do not need foaming face or body wash. You will need shaving cream, though.

actually you do not need baking soda I tried it and it works perfectly fine, also laundry detergent does work fine but I recommend just sticking to the original recipe.
