Hi, so I am back with another tutorial for you guys! It’s a pair of pants that I’ve seen several times on both Pinterest and Instagram. So I decided to make a DIY tutorial of it. This tutorial is the second part of the previous one. For those who haven’t seen it, check it out. I’ll also put the link of the pattern of the pants that we are going to make today!

Step 1: Cut It!

The first thing to do is to pin the pattern above the wrong side of the fabric. I would also point out that it is not necessary to add seam allowances because they are already included in the pattern. Then move on to the cutting process, so normally each piece is cut twice except the waistband. We work with two different fabrics. So as far as I’m concerned, the pieces with the darts will be in beige and the other two will be in a brown faux leather.

Step 2: Darts & Legs

You need to sew the front and back darts. In order to do it, I use straight stitches and I make sure to back stitches at the beginning and end of stitching. You can also tie knots.

Then, add the sides, -which corresponds to my brown faux leather pieces- so can have complete legs.

Step 3: The Iinvisible Zipper

Here, I am putting my invisible zipper in place. Invisible zippers are key!

If you sew it perfectly, I guarantee you won’t be able to see it.

Step 4: Crotch & Legs

Now that your zipper is installed, you can sew the two front pieces together at the crotch and do the same for the back pieces. Together means one above the other.

After that, we will simply pin and sew the legs together.

Step 5: The Belt

Finally, the last step is to sew the belt to the pants. For this, I pin it to the pants rights sides kissing. And make sure to stick the head of the invisible zipper in it before taking it to your sewing machine. Again, I sew with straight stitches. I cut angles so that I can turn the belt inward. but I add hemming web to it before because I didn’t want visible seams at the waist. hemming web means iron so turn the belt inward, pin it and then iron it down.

For the hem, you can use hemming web.
