Introduction: DIY Mineral Veil=Longer Lasting Makeup

When I take a peek at the ingredients used in my cosmetics & beauty products, I sometimes find a way to make a copycat version on it for a fraction of the cost. Mineral Veil is one of those products that you can easily duplicate because the main ingredient used is cornstarch. Yep, the stuff that thickens gravy is also what makes your makeup last longer and reduces shine. I have two ways of using cornstarch with makeup:
1.. DIY Mineral Veil Powder:
-In a small bowl or empty powder container, Combine 1.5 Tablespoons of cornstarch with about 1/4 Teaspoon of powder
-Apply over your finished makeup & check out your fabulous face in the mirror
2. Liquid Version: Cornstarch with Foundation
-Mix a small pinch of cornstarch in with liquid foundation. I just put a little foundation in a bowl, put in the cornstarch & then apply. This sets my makeup & it lasts so much longer.
That’s it! Both versions are SO easy and it will only set you back a few cents to make, versus $20. Pretty good right? So next time you find yourself in the grocery store, pick up a box for less than $2 and make all the faux “mineral veil” your heart desires :)
