Introduction: DIY Nutella Mug Cake Recipe

About: I'm a 5 year old girl who loves to DIY! My idol is Alton Brown and I want to be just like him! I started my own channel to share my crafts and treats with everyone so I hope you guys like it! I've been really…

This DIY Nutella Mug Cake is super quick and yummy! The cake is super soft and the Nutella makes it even better! You can make this anytime you're in the mood for a piece of cake. If you want a more chocolaty taste, you can add a packet of hot cocoa to it as well! You can also pop it out onto a plate after microwaving and add a scoop of your favorite ice cream. The warm cake and cold ice cream is SO good together.

Please watch the video above to learn how to make it.

Step 1: The Yummy Ingredients!

You will need:

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt (about 1/8 tsp)
  • 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 TBSP milk
  • 1 TBSP Nutella
  • 1 1/2 tsp oil
  • any toppings that you like
    • I chose whipped cream and sprinkles, but you can use icing/frosting, powdered sugar, ice cream etc.
  • microwave safe mug
  • and a spoon to mix everything together

Step 2: Pour It All In...

Pour the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, egg yolk, milk, nutella, and oil into your mug. If you have a big mug, you can double the recipe, make sure it's between 1/2 to 2/3 full, anything more and it will spill over the edge of your mug while cooking.

Step 3: And Mix It Up!

Mix until incorporated, do not over mix.

Step 4: Nuke It!

Ask an adult to microwave it on high for about 60 seconds. The time might need adjusting depending on what microwave you have. If it's not done, microwave for 10 seconds at a time until it is.

Step 5: Time to Eat!

Let it cool a little bit and top your mug cake with icing or whipped cream. Then add sprinkles! Time to eat!

(Don't forget to make another one and try it warm with a scoop of ice cream!)

Hope you guys enjoy this quick treat! :)
