Introduction: DIY Paper Pokè Balls

About: huge geek with a creative drive and too much free time

Hey everyone! It's been a while, but I've got a great one for you: DIY Paper Pokè balls! Here's the story:

My best friend Ashley LOVES Pokèmon. LOVES. IS ADDICTED TO. You get the picture, right? Anyways, I was thinking long and hard about how I could show my gratitude to her for being my friend, without it being too cheesy. Then, it came to me... POKÈMON BALL! Makes sense, I know. The end.

It's not too hard to make, so let's get started!

Step 1: Materials

You will be needing red paper, white paper, black paper, a circular object to draw circles with, a pencil, coloring pencils or markers or crayons, and a smaller circular object to draw circles with.

Step 2: Red Circles, Red Circles

First, take your larger circular object and trace it onto the red piece of paper. Cut it out. If you are making one, cut out two circles. Leave one as a full circle, and cut one in half. If you are making two, cut out three circles. Cut one in half. I'm making four, so you get the picture :)

Step 3: Half a Snowball

Now, trace a circle onto the white piece of paper. Cut it in half. For two Pokè Balls, cut one in half. Et cetera, et cetera.

Step 4: Glue It Up Up Up

Take one of the halves, and put glue around the edges. Then, put it on one of the whole red circles. It will act as a pouch when dry.

Step 5: Add a Cutting Edge

Turn it over, and you may see that the edges are a bit uneven. If so, cut the excess off and there you go!

Step 6: What's Next?

Next, you have to get one of the red halves and a black piece of paper.

Step 7: The Black Connecting Thing

There is a black part of a Pokè Ball that serves as a hinge-like thing. Draw them out to fit the Pokè Balls.

Step 8: Cut 'Em Out

Now, cut out the black thingies you just drew.

Step 9: Glue Into the Horizon!

I thought that the glue lines looked like a horizon. Cool, yes? Anyways... Put glue down the middle and trace the semicircle.

Step 10: Put It On

Put the black part onto the red half.

Step 11: Cut the Edges

Cut off the extra edges if needed.

Step 12: Cut Hinges

Cut out a rectangle, and cut that into the number of Pokè Balls you want to make rectangles.

Step 13: Fold in Half and Glue

Follow the pictures :)

Step 14: Glue Onto Pokè Halves

Glue the rectangles onto the red half circles.

Step 15: Glue Dots on Dots

Use the smaller circular object to make more circles. Cut them out. Put dots of glue on them.

Step 16: Glue Them On

Glue those on the black parts.

Step 17: What You Have So Far

Step 18: Like a Hinge

Step 19: Glue Squares

Glue squares on the open space of the hinge.

Step 20: Glue On

Step 21: Gotta Make Some More, Gotta Make Some More

Make more and more!

Step 22: Draw Some Pokèmon

Draw some Pokèmon or print some out. I drew these by hand (I was so proud) but do as you wish. I asked my friend what her for favorite Pokèmon, and she said these four.

Step 23: Color and Cut

Color them and cut them out!

Step 24: More Than 150 Uses!

Get that? Huh? More than 150 uses? Huh, huh? No? Oh, okay then... Well there's a lot you can use this Pokè Ball for!
