About: Hey, I'm Muhaimina! A Craftaholic person (or Witch if you may say!). Obsessed with swirls and polka dots... and Instructables is pretty much my second home! Follow my IG Blog https://www.instagram.com/the_craf…

Don't you just love to make things from unusual supplies! When it comes to jewelry making the first material that comes in our minds is - bead, right? Beaded jewelries are very pretty, undoubtedly, but jewelries from materials like-old newspapers, scrap wood etc. are more fun to make.

Here's a super simple and easy jewelry craft which can be made in minutes. Besides, it turns out really cute!

Follow this ible to transform a paperclip into a pretty ring!

Step 1: Materials Needed

To make this ring you'll need:

  1. Paperclip
  2. Jewelry pliers
  3. Mandral

Step 2: Straightening the Paperclip

To make this ring it's better to use metal paperclips rather than the colored ones.

Use flat nose pliers to straighten the paperclip

Step 3: Creating the Swirls

First measure your ring size in inches, wrap a measuring tape around your finger to find the ring size.

Take the looping pliers and create a small loop at any one ends of the straight paperclip. Circle the wire around that loop once to create a swirl. In case your paper clip is longer after straightened you can circle the wire around the loop more than once.

Once you've made the first swirl go to the other end of the straight paperclip. Use the looping pliers again to make another loop, but this time circle the wire to the opposite direction of the previous loop. Circle the wire around that loop to create another swirl. Place the swirly paper clip on a flat surface and check if the size is right.

Step 4: Making the Ring

Now for the final step, simply wrap the swirly paperclip around a mandrel. You can hammer the ring to give it a finished a look or you can keep it as it is.

You can easily adjust the size of the ring as both its ends are open. I loved how this turned out.

From stationary supply to fancy jewelry!

Happy crafting!
