Introduction: DIY Leather Pigtail Holders
In this instructable, I will show you how to make beautiful leather pigtail holders (aka ponytail corsets)! It is really easy and only takes less then a half hour to make!
Step 1: Gather the Matherials
You will need:
- A piece of leather ( must be at least 6 by 7 inches)
- A leather punch tool
- Some leather suede string ( I am using 48 inches)
-heavy duty scissors
-pen (optional)
-ruler (optional)
Step 2: Cut the Leather
In this case, I cut two leather pieces 3 by 3 1/2 inches long. But, if your hair is really thick you will want to make a longer strip to wrap around your hair and vice versa. Also, you can make the width longer if you have longer hair.
Step 3: Punch the Holes
Punch parallel holes along the short sides of your leather pieces. In this case, I am using four holes. If your have longer hair, you may want to punch more. The holes should be big enough to fit your string through.
Step 4: Lace It Up
Cut your 48 inch string into two pieces. Crisscross lace the strings through the holes, just like shoe-laces! You are almost finished.
Step 5: Put Them On!
Loosen up the lacing and slip them over your already tied pigtails. Tighten and tie off in a bow. You are finished!
