Hello everyone, today we will design and make an awesome door overhang using MDF wood and acrylic cuts. We will learn how to design it from scratch and how to make it look nice.

مقدمة :

في هذا المشروع سوف نقوم بعمل مظلة للباب باستخدام السي ان سي و الة القص بالليزر. سوف نستخدم الخشب و الاكرليك لتنفيذ المشروع.

Step 1: Requirements

For this project we will need:

MDF wood (12mm thickness).
Acrylic ( 3mm thickness). Any color of your choice. Alternatively, you can just use wood paint.
Rope (~ 3m long).
Wood glue.
Double sided tape.

we will also need a CNC and a laser cutter machines.

المتطلبات:

لهذا المشروع سوف نحتاج التالي:

خشب بسُمك 12 مم
أكرليك بعدة ألوان بسمك 3 مم
حبال شد بطول 3 متر
غراء خشب
ملصق من وجهين

سوف يتم تنفيذ المشروع عن طريق آلة السي ان سي

Step 2: 2D Design

For the 2D design we just used some Arabic pattern vector. We imported the vector into Inkscape . After making some adjustments we exported the .SVG file to .PDF file so we can cut it by the CNC and the laser cutter machines.

Note:

The way we cut the pattern is that we pocketed some parts so we can fill them with red and blue acrylic cuts.

We also cut some parts so the light come through it.

The design is attached with this step.

التصميم الثنائي الأبعاد

تم تصميم المشروع باستخدام برنامج انكسكيب . وتم ادراج الاشكال الزخرفية على التصميم وتم حفر بعض الاجزاء حتى يتم لصق الاكرليك عليها

Step 3: Cutting the Design

As you can see in this step, we used our CNC machine to cut the design on 1.2m X 2.4m MDF wood sheet.

Then, we used the same design to make some acrylic cuts to fill the pockets we made earlier.

Note:

Make sure to make the acrylic cuts smaller so they can fit in the pockets perfectly.

You can use wood glue to glue the acrylic cuts to the pockets just like what we did.

تنفيذ المشروع

تم تنفيذ المشروع عن طريق آلة السي ان سي و تم قصه بمقاس 1.2 في 2.4

وبالنسبة لقطع الاكرليك تم قصها عن طريق الة القص بالليزر و تثبيتها على الخشب

Step 4: Final Product

Here is our final product. We used the double sided tape to glue the extra acrylic cuts on the wall. We also used the rope to hang the door overhang tightly.

You can always make some more touches. As you can notice, we added some lights just to make it more awesome. That's it for now, I hope you like it.
