The first two are clones of antennas sold by amazon and the last is a home made parabolic antenna.

Step 1: Window Pane Antenna.

Just a simple window pane antenna. Went to the dollar store and bought some flat oven cookie sheets, The cut out the pattern by eyeballing the picture. I think the measurements were something like 8 x 5.5 inches. Under $3.

Step 2: Griddle Plate.

An extended window pane antenna, Went to the dollar store and bought some flat oven cookie sheets, Took two sheets for this one The cut out the pattern by eyeballing the picture. I think the square measurements were about three inches. Worked pretty good. Under $3.

Step 3: Parabolas

Parabolic antennas are extremely directional. This antenna started out as a small picture on a web page. With the small picture, I enlarged it with a drawing program and then saved the larger form. Then I printed out the larger form. glued aluminium foil to the non-printed side witht he shiny side of the aluminium foil facing out. From there you cut out between the spines, The it is a matter of taping the splines together. Lastly one line of the dipole antenna wires will attach to the foil and the other wire to ground. Might work better as a wifi antenna reflector though,

Just need the lnb's.

Step 4: Yagi Antenna.

Like the parabola antenna, the yagi antenna can be very directional. This was also a case of where I took a small picture and enlarged it. The I printed out the picture twice so each of the dipoles could be made, You have to use your imagination to cut out each of the poles so that you do not have a mess of tines. Like the Parabola foil was glued to the dipole forms and then cut out. Attache each of the dipoles to a nonconductor such as poster board so that the tines do not touch or overlap each other.

Step 5: Infamous Coathanger Version 1.

With all the antennas I have made, never have I done a coat hanger antenna so here are some notes.

10 coat hangers 2 + 8


10 each wood screws and washers.

1 transformer

1 long board

Step 6: Another Antenna to Play With

Couple of coat hangers and you have an antenna. Use 6.5 and 7 inches for the whiskers.

Variations of each other.

Step 11: Barrel Antenna

One person exclaims the pattern wrapped around the barrel got great reception Made the pattern, but did not take the time to test it.

Step 13: Dipole Directional

Think I may have shown this antenna before but this time in making another one, I used the correct angle. First picture was a crude version with the angle too wide. Really did not work. Then there iis a picture of what it is supposed to look like. Additional note for setup, pictures of the one in progress Lastly a pdf of the antenna format.

Step 14: Simple Clip Antenna

This is a variation on the very first foil antenna. Put a wire on each side to make sure the connecting swires were not crossed.

Step 16: HD Antenna/

Found this antenna and wondered if the design could be reused. The bottom two tines could either be directors or reflectors.

    I made something similar to the coat hanger one. I used 1 hanger for the 2 "V" sections, then duct taped a 12" aluminum pizza pan behind it. Worked better than I imagined. Thanks for th great ideas.

    Thanks for posting. You've just saved me some time hunting for simple antennas to make and test. It would be great to see what results you got with those you made.
