Introduction: Earbud Keeper (out of Old Packaging!)

About: Yup, I live in little old Oklahoma. No, we do NOT live in tepees, and, unlike you would expect, the state is nowhere close to flat. Most of my computer skills come from my dad, who is a programmer, and first…

Earlier today, I bought a pair of earbuds.  The package was a pain in the butt to open, and I knew I would probably have issues with my earbuds tangling up.  So, I thought: If the package is that hard to open, that must mean it's really sturdy!  Plus, it would be awesome to have a free earbud holder.  Thus came this Instructable.  Enjoy!

Step 1: Materials

You will need:
-Good, sharp scissors
-A pair of earbuds
-Old plastic packaging (like the clamshell type)
-A Sharpie
-Tape (depending on design)

Step 2: Plan Your Design

The first design I came up with was way too small to fit the cord of my earbuds.  So, keep that in mind as you draw your design on the plastic with the Sharpie.

Step 3: Cut Out Your Design

Next, you need to cut out your design.  That's why you have a good pair of scissors, don't you?  Clamshell packaging can be very hard to open sometimes.  So, cut the plastic along the lines you drew.

Step 4: Tape Stuff Together

Depending on the design you came up with, you may need tape.  So, this step is just here to tell you to tape.  Easiest step in here (besides designing).

Step 5: Done!

This is my finished product.  Cool, huh?  Yours will likely not look the same.  If you want to share yours, just post it below.  Hopefully this Instructable helped you use some of that pesky plastic packaging and keep your earbuds from tangling.
