Introduction: Easy DIY Mouse Pad

About: I love Pokemon

In this Instructable I will show you how to make a DIY hard plastic mouse pad. Unlike cloth mouse pads our DIY version is non-slip, smooth and is easy to clean. This DIY mouse pad is inexpensive and makes your computer setup really look great.

Step 1: What You Need

You will need a sheet of hard plastic the size you want your mousepad. I used some tinted plexiglass. You will also need 4 non-slip rubber feet.

Step 2: Prepare Your Plastic

If you are using clear or translucent plastic you will need to lightly sand one side with extremely fine sandpaper. Hold your plastic up to a light to see how well you sanded it. The sanded plastic should look all scratched up. This allows the optical sensor in your mouse to track better and also prevents your mouse from skidding so much. The scratches are pretty much invisible once you put the mousepad on your desk. Once you are done sanding rinse the plastic and let it dry.

Step 3: Rubber Feet

Put one rubber non-slip foot in each corner of your piece of plastic. If you sanded your plastic in the last step put the feet on the smooth, unsanded side.

Step 4: Use It!

The DIY mouse pad you just made will make your PC setup look great! This is what mine looks like.
