In this instructable, I will be showing you a couple of easy modifications that I made to a dress to make it more versatile and functional. I purchased this dress last summer at Kohl's. It looks like a romper from the front and a floor length dress from the back. The problem is that when I am not holding the material back, you cannot tell that it is a romper, and it looks like I am about to flash someone when I’m walking or sitting down. Watch the 1 minute video above to see how I fixed this or keep reading below.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Step 2: Attach Snaps
I had a couple of ideas for how I could modify the dress. I could either stitch the skirt part to the shorts so that it is always open or I could stitch up the dress to where it is always closed. Instead of committing to either of those options, I decided to attach snaps to my dress so that I could alternate between the two looks. I used safety pins to mark where I wanted the snaps and simply sewed the snaps onto the dress. To get a better understanding of where I placed the snaps to make this work, watch the 1 minute video above.
Step 3: Finished!
And that's all it takes to modify this dress! If you enjoyed this tutorial, please consider following me on Instructables and subscribing to my Youtube channel to see more content like this. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMQQAmEG3HaUyNFH...
