Introduction: DIY Easy Induction Heater // DIY Aquecedor Por Indução Fácil

In this instructable i'll be showing you how i made my induction heater in a very simple way with components from old electronics.

Step 1: Getting the Components // Achando Os Componentes

I removed most of the components from an old computer motherboard, i removed 2 power MOSFET's and 2 inductors, in another pcb i found a capacitor and the necessary resistors for the project, the diodes i had on my components bin, they were the only thing i had to "buy"

Step 2: Necessary Components - Parts List // Componentes Necessários

The necessary components for this project are:

- 2 MOSFET's:
Found mine on an older motherboard, just search for the model number + datasheet on google and you should get the datasheet for your MOSFET, it needs to be a power MOSFET, and you get the pinout on the datasheet too.

- 2 Inductors:
Also removed from the old motherboard, the mobo usually has 2 inductors, these are the ones we want...

- 2 Resistors:
Found mine on the same board i found the capacitor, we need 2 220R resistors.

- 1 Capacitor:
Between 100-500nF should work, got mine from an old pcb that was lying around here.

- 1 Coil
I used 2mm thick copper wire to make a coil with around 10 turns on a 20mm pvc pipe.

- 2 Diodes
I used 1n5817 diodes (they need to be fast switching), that they were left over from an old project, that i bought too many of them

Os componentes necessários são

- 2 MOSFET's

Step 3: Putting All Together // Montando Tudo

This step has no secret, just follow the schematic and then you're done, there are some pics of mine induction heater above

Special thanks to GreatScott for making a video about this induction heater and giving us a free schematic!

Step 4: Powering Up and Testing // Ligando E Testando

Now that you're done making the project, you can power it up and test, for power you need 12V at about 7 Amps (i used notebook battery cells), to test if it works, put a metal (preferably iron) object inside the coil and see if it gets hot, if it gets, then your project was a success!
