Step 1: Supplies

For this project you will need the following items.

- A mason jar.

- Potting soil.

- Flowers.

- Burlap.

- Scissors.

- Gravel.

Step 2: Put Gravel in Your Jar.

In this step you need to put about 1 to 1 1/2in of gravel in the bottom of you mason jar. This is to increase drainage and prevent your roots from decaying.

Step 3: Place Flower and Dirt in Jar.

Now that there is gravel in the bottom of the jar, place your flower in the jar and pack rich, nutrient packed soil.

Step 4: Cut Decor

Now that the flowers have been planted, it's time to make it look pretty. Take a strip of burlap (which can be found at many different craft stores) and cut it down the center as seen in the picture above.

Step 5: Finish Project

In this last step, take the cut strip of burlap and tie it around the jar. You can do all sorts of designs like bows, ribbons, and plain strips. This is the perfect gift for Mothers Day or any occasion that calls for the use of flowers. I hope this was useful and have fun planting.

These are cute, I've seen a lot of country chic weddings use these as centerpieces too :)
