Easy and Free Nun Chucks

Hello! This is my first instructable. Be harsh if you have to :D. I have been informed by mrmath that these are illegal in some areas. Please check your local laws and use responsibly.

I'll be showing you how to make very easy and virtually free nun chucks made from simple materials you can find around the house.

Step 1: The Materials

Sorry! forgot to get a picture of them :|

You will be needing the following....

- Hacksaw
-Rope ( about 2 ft. Your choice )
-A large stick. About 1 inch in diameter. ( or 2.54 cm, whatever you wanna call it :P )
- ( optional ) Electrical tape for a grip.
- And a drill

Step 2: The Saw!

You will want to get a stick that is at least 2 feet long. Cut it in half.

Step 3: Drilling!

You will want to drill a hole about an inch from the top of your wooden rods. Drill all the way through and make the hole big enough so u can fit your rope through.

Step 4: Rope!

now its time to put the rope through. First make one knot about 2 inches from the end of the rope. Then slide the stick on and tie the rest of the rope to form another knot so the rod will not slip off. Repeat for the other side.

Step 5: Yay! You're Done!

Finished :D! Now go whack something.... Not your family, friends, pets, or any other living things. I am not responsible for any injuries that may occur during the use of these nun chucks. I used my nun chucks on a soda can. look at the picture below ( it's from one single blow :D )

If you use sticks, use freshly cut wood (its stronger) and scape off all the bark. The bark makes wood tot faster and bark flakes off after a while and could make you lose your grip. Great job though

possesion and use of these is a felony, and it is a deadly weapons. so kids dont try to be badass on billy's little brother. assault with a deadly weapon charges dont look good on a resume.

Says the one with a confederate flag as their avatar.. But honestly, I dont think anyone is going to care as long as you dont go flashing them around.

yeah... andrew, a friend of mine made something similar. he was playing with them one day and one half flew off and hit his brother in the head... HARD, lol. i was amazed it didnt knock him out cold. and even more amazed he didnt kill us. lol. so, everybody, always be careful when making your own nunchaku, or when using cheap reproductions.

Ok, I'm sorry to pick on you, but isn't this a pretty simple instructable? Maybe you could finish or decorate the wood, or write about good types of wood to use... or document a better way to attach the rope. Its just that I don't think this currently involves any processes that require instruction...

    1) Before you make these, please check the local laws in your area. In New York State, for example, they are illegal. Your local laws will vary. 2) Nunchucks are a dangerous weapon used in martial arts. You should only use them under the supervision of a trained instructor, such as your local sensei. 3) Your-->Something belonging to you, as in "These are your nunchucks." You're-->Short for "you are", as in "Yay! You're Done!"

    2) The uncut stick was probably more dangerous. Unless you meant dangerous to the weilder.
