Easy and Fast Prank on Windows Computers

Introduction: Easy and Fast Prank on Windows Computers

this is an easy prank you can do to a friend that loves his computer... say hes in the bathroom for 15 seconds??

Step 1: First...

first you want to bring up task manager
do this by pressing control+alt+delete

Step 2: Second...

click the "processes" tab, and find explorer.exe

and then, press "end process"

NOTE: be sure EVERYTHING is minimized or else it wont work, all the icons and the start menu bar go away but programs that are still up

Step 3: Then

when you think your friend has had enough, bring up task manager again, (control+alt+delete),then click File > New task (run)
then type in "explorer"
and everything should come back up

This is a great Instructable, but you need to add a main image of the final project to the intro step. Please do that and leave me a message when you have so that we can publish your work. Thanks!

    Run 'gpedit.msc' without the quotes.
    Find System in administrative Templates
Find Ctrl-alt-del options then press + and enable 'disable Task Manager'
To renable Task Manager, simplt put it to 'not configured'.
    Regedit option
    HKCU or HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/policies/system
Add a DWORD value "DisableTaskMgr"without quotes, the CAPS on D,T and M is a must.Change the value to 1.Renableit just put it to 0.

were not trying to give them a heartattack, i mean, whos going to think of opening explorer.exe from taskmanager? and no, rebooting it does nothing, ive tried it and i was scared shitless when i did this to myself accidentally

hah, i just tried it on my mom with a BSOD, nice idea. she almost broke into tears because she was in the middle of a very important email haha!

NICE JOB, its lots of fun 2 do 2 people!

Soo cool, i'm going to pull it on my friend right away!

nope, you dont have to hide the icons. when you delete explorer.exe the icons and taskbar go away
