Introduction: Emergency Compass / Compás De Emergencia
If you ever have the need to draw a circle to finish that super important job that will define your future (not to mention your homework!) and desperately searched the entire house in the middle of the night in hope to find a circle template or a compass just to find that sock you though your dog ate last year, then this hack is for you.

Si alguna vez tienes la necesidad de dibujar un círculo para terminar ese trabajo súper importante que definirá tu futuro (¡Y ni hablar de la tarea!) y desesperadamente buscas por toda la casa en medio de la noche con la esperanza de encontrar una plantilla de círculos o un compás, solo para encontrar ese calcetín que pensabas que tu perro se había comido el año pasado, entonces este truco es para ti.

Step 1: Simple Stuff. / Cosas Simples.
You'll need:
- Pencil, pen, mechanical pencil, etc. (It's up to you).
- Eraser.
-Ruler.
-Scissors.
-A piece of cardboard.
- A tack or pin.
ESPAÑOL:
Necesitarás:
- Lápiz, pluma, portaminas, etc. (Depende de ti).
- Goma.
- Regla.
- Tijeras.
-Un pedazo de cartulina.
- Una tachuela o alfiler.
Step 2: Theory and Practice. / Teoría Y Práctica.
Now, I know this is quite simple if you are not looking for accuracy, but if you need the circle to have certain dimensions, then we need to check some points.
Lets say you need to draw an 11 cm diameter circle: first thing to do is obtain the radius by dividing the diameter by 2, which in this example is 5.5 cm.
Take your cardboard and ruler and mark the required distance plus 2 mm on the side, then mark one centimeter from the corner in, draw a rectangle and cut. The extra millimeters are to place the tack and pencil tip on each end of the rectangle, this way your dimensions remain untouched. Take in account that you may have to add more mm if you use a pen, for instance. This will depend on the size of the tip of the drawing tool you use.

Ahora, sé que es algo muy simple si no estás buscando exactitud, pero si necesitas que el círculo tenga ciertas dimensiones, entonces debemos repasar algunos puntos.
Digamos que necesitas dibujar un círculo de 11 cm de diámetro: lo primero que tienes que hacer es obtener el radio dividiendo el diámetro entre dos, que en este ejemplo son 5.5 cm.
Toma tu cartulina y regla y marca la distancia requerida más 2 mm de un lado, después marca un centímetro de la esquina hacia adentro, dibuja un rectángulo y corta. Los milímetros extra son para colocar la tachuela y la punta del lápiz en cada extremo del rectángulo, de esta manera tus dimensiones permanecen sin cambio. Toma en cuenta que tal vez tengas que añadir más mm si utilizas una pluma, por ejemplo. Esto dependerá del tamaño de la punta de la herramienta de dibujo que utilices.
Step 3: Draw! / ¡Dibuja!
Now simply take the tack firmly with one hand and move the pencil with the other to draw your circle and … That’s it!
If you have any doubt about the dimensions, take your ruler and check.
If you need to draw several circles of different diameters, simply cut several cardboard pieces the size you need. I recommend not to throw them away once the job is done, label them and store them in case you have future emergencies.

Si tuvieras alguna duda de las dimensiones, puedes comprobar con la regla.
Si necesitaras hacer varios círculos de diferentes diámetros, simplemente corta varias cartulinas del tamaño que necesites. Te recomiendo que no las tires una vez que termines, rotulalas y guárdalas para futuras emergencias.
