English Sandwiches

Introduction: English Sandwiches

About: Mother, wife, passionate cook and baker, hobby photographer, living in Asia. I have a website http://www.pane-bistecca.com/rezepte-recipe-blog.html with international recipes. I am not perfect but perfect...

Snack food at its best!

Sandwiches are easy to make and you can fill them with whatever you like. Especially during hot summer days it is a perfect food; no need to cook! They are easy to carry, to bring to a pick-nick, or to take to school.

For English Sandwiches you need crust-less toast-bread  if you cannot find this, just cut off the crust with a very sharp knife.

I made 5 different fillings!

Step 1:

Sandwich Number 1
Smoked Salmon-Cream Cheese

Spread cream cheese onto two bread slices
put one layer of smoked salmon onto it
brush with horseradish
put the second bread slice onto it
cut apart.

Step 2:

Sandwich Number 2
Tomato - Mozzarella

Spread butter onto two bread slices
put one layer of thin cut tomato slices on one bread slice
add thin slices of mozzarella
brush with 1 tsp Pesto
put the second bread slice onto it
cut apart.

Step 3:

Sandwich Number 3
Ham and Cheese

Spread butter onto two bread slices
put one layer of cooked ham onto one bread slice
add a thin slice of cheese
brush with some mustard
put the second bread slice onto it
cut apart.

Step 4:

Sandwich Number 4
Egg Salad

chop two boiled eggs
mix with 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
and some chopped chives
season with salt and pepper
Spread butter onto two bread slices
add egg salad
put the second bread slice onto it
cut apart.

Step 5:

Sandwich Number 5

I saw an article in the news today, butter consumption is at an all time high. Now we know why, hahaha. Actually a peppery alternative, olive oil.

Of course you don't need to add butter, yes olive oil could do the trick, it's a very good alternative.
