Introduction: Exploding Card Box

About: I am an art geek who enjoys film, fashion, diys, crafts, sci-fi, and food. I am an interesting sort and you will see what my diys are all about

The Exploding Card Box is a beautiful and meaningful way to give a card. A small gift can also be included on the inside. There is no limit to the theme for this card, and can be created in various ways!

Step 1: Supplies

The supplies you need are

1. Scissors

2. Marker or some type of writing utensil

Step 2: 12 X 12 Cardstock Base

Mark the 12 x 12 Cardstock

Start with the base of 12 x 12 and mark 4 and 8 inches respectively on one side.

Turn at 90 degrees and repeat on all 4 sides.

Fold at marks and rotate for a total of four folds.

There should be a total of 9 squares.

Cut the outer 4 corners.

You should have a plus sign.

Step 3: 9 X 9 First Flap

Take the second 12 x 12 cardstock and reduce to a 9 x 9

Step 4: 8 X 11 Card Stock Last Flap

Take the 8 x 11 cardstock, and reduce to a 6 x 6

Start with the base of the 6 x 6, and mark 2 and 4 inches respectively on one side. Turn at 90 degrees, and repeat on all 4 sides. Fold at the marks, and rotate for a total of four folds. There should be a total of 9 squares. Cut the outer 4 corners.

You should have the smallest of the plus sign.

If you put the plus signs all together they will neat on top of eachother.

Step 5: 8 X 11 Lid

Take the second 8 x 11 cardstock and reduce to a 8 x 8

Start with the base of 8 x 8, and mark 2 and 6 inches respectively on one side. Turn at 90 degrees and repeat on all 4 sides. Fold at marks, and rotate for a total of four folds. There should be a total of 9 squares. Cut the 2 inch marks. This will create a lid for your box, and will look like slits.

Step 6: Glue and Complete

Glue the plus signs together and let dry. After you can finally have some fun and add stickers, embellishments, and anything you'd like. To make the box simply fold up and turn the smaller flap to the right. I will be making more of these videos in detail so if this is confusing I will clear more details in the future.

There are a lot of templates and videos, but I found this to be easiest and tweaked to my liking.

Thank you so much for watching!!!
