Step 1: What You'll Need

You will need:

A Metal wire hanger

and some strong wire clippers ( my other pair dented at the blade)

Step 2: The Real Stuff

Now using you wire cutters, cut off the top part of the hanger. Then take one of the ends that is missing the top and bend the whole angle about 90 degrees. Then it will be done. Just put the part that sticks up, underneath of the laptop towards the back so that it can cool off.

I did something similar without the wireclippers.  My intent I was to use the laptop in bed, and elevated on a pillow, without suffereing the heat issues.

I simply undid the wire at the top, then twisted and bent and whatnot.  The useful part, I found, was the hook (the thing that hangs onto the bar).  I bent so that the hook stuck out infront of the laptop, keeping it in place on the stand.
