Introduction: Fake Tattooing

About: Hey, my name is Jason. A little bit about myself is that well, I love photography, cooking/baking, creating, etc. About myself physically, I'm a male, I'm 5'7", Brunet. Personality wise, I'm usual...

this is an easy and fun way to make fake tattoos on yourself or others.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RATE!!!!! AND COMMENT IF YOU WANT!

Step 1: What They Look Like

theese are some i made on me and my mom...1 on me 2 on my mom. they are definentally not the best considering i just started making them and you can only do so many on one person.

Step 2: What You Need

Cotton balls or pads, Rubbing Alcohol isopropyl 70% - 99% Ball point Pen or pencil (pencil gives best result, i did not no that at the time.) tracing paper sharpies black & color (color is optional) (NEED EXTRA OR ULTRA FINE POINT!!!!), Q-tips

Step 3: Getting Started

-find a tattoo pattern or draw one or stencil one on a normal piece of paper. -put the paper underneath the tracing paper and redraw onto tracing paper. -cut out around the object and move o next step...

Step 4: NEXT

-Find a place that the tattoo will fit and that you want it (my leg) -apply rubbing Alcohol to cotton ball and apply cotton ball to skin. -rub the alcohol around in the same size as the object would be. -set the "tattoo" in the alcohol covered skin so it sticks. -Put a small but good amount of alcohol on the tattoo tracing paper until it has transferred the ink or lead onto you. (sorry no pic, it has to be done rather fast)

Step 5: 3rd

-remove the tracing paper and you should have the outline of the tattoo on your skin! - Take the Sharpies and trace the outline. -Once traced, color inside and if you want outside your new tattoo! (optional) There you have your new real-ly-fake tattoo!!! (start small and easy and gradually progress to harder!!!)

Step 6: OH KNOW I MESSED UP THE WHOLE TATTOO!!!!

Don't worry if you feel this way when your almost done with a tattoo!!(first pic) steps to fix it> > -Get alcohol and Q-tips (i put alcohol in lid so it was easier to get) -rub at the part you messed up on until it just disappears...POOF! (took me 3 Q-tips and about 5 mins. for a tiny mess) -Re-draw the lines and re-color the right way.

Step 7: More Finishing Touches

Never Be DISCOURAGED!!!! i used about 1/4th a bottle of alcohol on my first tattoo (kinda sad). start off small unlike me. the more you tattoo (fakely) the better you get! Hoped you liked this instructable!

Step 8: Some Links to Patterns/outlines

you can also use a sharpie and put baby powder on it. it's amazing and lasts for at least a month! believe me!!;D

It doesn't have to be sharpie if you are using a thin coat of clear nail polish.

Well, that uh...didn't work well. It's a great tutorial but when I put the rubbing alcohol on the tattoo, it got really blury. If I put too little on, tattoo doesn't come on. If I put too much, ink blurs. Any tips?

Not really. My lines did not transfer nearly as well. If you are doing a design with very very thick lines it might work well but thin lines will not show up well at all. Parchment paper works better than wax but tracing paper works the best.

The picture is upside down but frankly no. It works much much much better with tracing paper. [This picture is done with wax paper (the butterfly) and parchment paper (the heart) though I had to use diluted alcohol thanks to skin sensitivity.] Big, thick lines seemed to work better than the thin ones. This picture was before re-outlining with sharpie. If you have good lighting and put the temporary tattoo in a good spot I guess you can try it but it did not work for me.

I am a young individual who finds doing fake tattoos fun, I really like that idea, but I would want something big enough for my whole arm

I let my art teacher doodle and now i can save it for a while thanks for the useful tips

This is basically the same technique that actual tattoo artists use to transfer images onto the skin before tattooing!

after you apply the tattoo if you want it to stay longer you put baby powder on it or gel deoderant on it. i forget. also you could after the deoderant or baby powder put plastic rap on it.

Hmm I actually like this process. It is really simple and something everyone could do. When I am bored, I generally grab my favorite black gel pen and design Tribal around my hand and wrist. I may do this, so others can wear my artwork too!

well, as a little "teaser", I guess you could call it, one of my first was an openblock-style set of wings. Most of what I do now is solid-form tribal.
