Farmer's Ultimate Paintball !

Intro: Farmer's Ultimate Paintball !

Farmer's Ultimate Paintball has many different versions, so we will show you our most popular one.

This is Farmer's Ultimate Paintball V.2 Capture the Flag, the most popular of Farmer's Ultimate Paintball.

This game is played in a cornfield surrounded by trees, at least thats the ideal play field. You can play in an open field or a meadow, but then again, you want to be covered by something when playing, so a cornfield is ideal.

Here we go!

This picture is the ideal play field for the game, but make sure you don't play in someone else's fields, because i'm pretty sure thats illegal, yeah, so have approval or make sure that you or another player owns the property.

Step 1: What You Need:

What you need to play the game:

-30 or so people (players) of 10+ age
-1 or 2 referee's to watch the game and call out players when hit
-Paintball marker and equipment
-paintball marker
-air tank
-any additional equipment
-one flag (a rag preferably, because if you have the country flag, its gonna be kinda odd, I don't know the laws on the flag, but I don't think you can shoot it, even with a paintball gun, you could also use a bandanna)
-paintballs - the amount is up to you, and how much you want to use
-three posts - flag poles will do, or any other posts/stakes you can find, just something that can hold a bandanna/flag
-walkie talkies (will be used to communicate between players) optional
-skills!!!! not really, no experience is necessary

A cornfield or other field with or without trees surrounding it, depending on what you have, and what you like, but trees make it way more fun. Also, if there is any other obstacles like towers, or even tractors or farm equipment to hide behind in the field that would be great!!!! The way you set up the field is pretty much up to you and your players.

So lets get started!!!!

Step 2: Field Setup!

Like I said earlier, you can pretty much setup the field however you would like, but at least three things need to be as mentioned right now:

You must have one post with the flag on it, visible in the middle of the playing field.
The other posts go at opposite sides of the field, empty.

Other obstacles can be setup in the field or around it.

Step 3: Play!

Here's how to play:

Split the 30 or so people into two teams, make sure all the good people are NOT on the same team.

Place the flag onto the center pole.

Referee's take the opposing teams to opposite sides of the field where there pole is.

Paintballers then start shooting the opposing team attempting to get them out. In order to get someone out, you must shoot them with a paintball that breaks on them. Paint should be shown in order to get out. Paint grenades and Smoke grenades are aloud.

Walkie Talkies can be used to communicate between players, one strategy is to have the snipers spot people they can't get, and tell the ground troops to get them.

If you get "out" then walk to a designated position out of the play area where players who are hit go. This is called the "safe zone" where players can stand out of the way of paint, make sure that your mask is still on because of paintballs that may fly towards the "safe zone".

During play, the team that gets the flag from the center of the field to their opponents pole, YES, TO THEIR OPPONENTS POLE, wins! If that turns out too hard, you can change the rules to: you have to get the flag to your own pole.

You may play best out of 3, or 5, or whatever, make a tournament out of it!!!!

Have fun, and take the proper safety precautions before, during, and after play.

I assume this would only be allowed in smaller private cornfields? Getting the corn covered in paint, nontoxic or not, can't be okay with the Agricultural Safety Board.

yeah i dont know who agricultura safety board is, but they sound like they want to keep things agriculture safe. which is cool. anyway, the thought i was trying to get out was an idea of playing in a field. looking back on the idea i posted 4 years ago, i find many flaws but a generally interesting concept. i would change the corn field, to a field of wheat or something a lot less tall and thick. something atleast you can take cover in but also see over the top. also, it would need to be rethought with dimensions of the fields because of the max distance a paintball can be shot, so maybe just spotters, or small field with "snipers". i never played the game because i'm in the suburbs with not much open space that has fields like this that are playable and also that i know the owner and /or they're ok with it.

thanks for your input. i didn't think this would be getting views 3+ years after i made it. hope it can be used for whatever its worth.

i'm sorry but this idea would never ever work, sniping doesn't work in paintball, they curve and only go a couple hundred feet, you would have to get right next to someone to shoot them other wise the field would provide too much cover, also trampling the wheat or corn wouldn't make any farmers happy. Also if you go right next to someone it wouldn't be safe, you would have to force them to surrender, in essence making it just a game of hide and go seek. I'm sorry, but please don't make an instructable about something you know nothing about...

wow you instructables critics are really going at it lately huh? i made this when i was 12. i think someone (you) dont have a good enough imagination, sorry. i made this wishing that i could do it. obviously its not perfect but i still wish i could play this game. i garuntee you that me and my buds could make this fun. i gaurantee a lot of people could have fun with this. i didnt know when i signed up that my instructables had to be made by a professional. and im so glad that you know everything there is to know about all paintballing and cornfields. thank you professional. and i forgot that saying sorry between every sentence made it ok to tell others what to do. sorry, you should get a bigger imagination. sorry, but please dont comment on my instructables telling me what to do.. thanks you kind sir! :) :) :) :) :) sarcasm here....

Yeah, it might be amazingly impractical but still sounds like a ton of fun.

I have a policy of not caring how old posts are. If I find something interesting, or have an opinion, I say it. I wonder why it is that people think that all the posts must be new to merit attention.

I agree, great backup or even sniper weapon.

I have a proto pmr7... LOVE IT!!! Slap a dye rotor on it and a carbon fiber tank on it and ur set. To the corn field idea, for a ditch effort to have some great fun with some friends go for it!!! Yeah, sniping wont work to well in this situation, but staying on the outskirts away from the action is absolutely no fun at all. Happy Paintballing!!!

Hate to play devils advocate here and rain on everyones parade. But I gotta judge from the picture of the cornfield provided. 1. I hope for y'alls sake that the leaves on those corn stalks are soft and pliable, because paintballs have a tendency to break on any plant they touch (thats why i hate playing in texas' mesquite forests). And 2. And judging from the picture, it would be nigh impossible to "snipe" from the treeline. The accurate range of a paintball gun is about 35 yards or less, add into consideration how dense the cornfield is, and i'd say any "snipers" will be disappointed. Personally, I'd prefer a wheatfield or cow pasture to play paintball in

okay, sorry, I'm just going from experience and offering my observations, the last thing i want to see is a bunch of people dislike the sport because of environment.

I've never paintballed before... I'll have to get a group of friends sometime, and start growing my own cornfield! okay, mabye not grow a cornfield...

I think your idea is simple but sweet. I have a plantain field in Nicaragua. We will be playing there May 19th in the world's first ecologically friendly paintball game in the world. The paintball pellets provide the nutrients to the soil, and YES, the paintball pellets are edible and biodegradable. Thanks again for the game idea. I will work on incorporating it there....but with slingshots.

best idea for paintball except there's not a lot of big corn fields around unless you live in like iowa or something!
