Step 1: Gather Materials

things you WILL need (top row):
flashlight and knife
straight edge (not shown)
strap cutter
hole punch
exacto knife
thread chisel
contact cement

optional items:
dye edge beveler
stamp or backgrounder
swivel knife
bees wax

Step 2: Cut Strip of Leather

with a straight edge off the side of your leather use your straight edge or strap cutter to slice off a piece. mines about 3"x20"

Step 3: Swivel and Glue

i swivle knifed a line on the exterior just for looks.
then lay out your items to know how much room youll need. leave a little space for your belt holes, and glue and fold the leather over so its nice and even with the other side.
wetti g the leather might be helpful.

Step 4: Punch Holes and Sew

i gave myself about 1/4" from the side and punch my holes to sew. if you look closely at the needle in the first photo you can see how i thread my needle.
the second photo shows how i start my sewing to keep it hidden away.

Step 5: Punch and Cut Belt Hole

about 1/4 from your sewing line lay out where you want the ends of your loop to be and punch your holes.

with your straight edge and exacto knife cut from hole to hole, giving you your belt loop.

Step 6: Sew

another 1/4 inch over. chisel more holes. and sew. same as before.

cut off the excess thread from the bottom after a couple knots.

Step 7:

keeping the bottom layer flat, lay your flashlight on and wrap the top layer around very tightly.

it helped me to mark the edges to keep alignment while chiseling holes.

pull the light and hold everything together very tight. chisle and sew.

i did the optional step of stamping a weave pattern before wrapping.

Step 8: Wrap Your Knife

same step as the flashight. wrap the knife tight. mark leather. chisle holes. and sew.

Step 9: Glue, Sew, Punch Holes, and Cut.

same as the start of this project!
chisel some straight lines. sew.

punch holes, same as the beginning.

punch and sew again

and cut off the excess leather about a 1/4" from your belt loop

Step 10: Burnish Youe Edge and Dye/finish

use your burnisher to finish off the sharp edge. make it round and smooth to match the other side.

dye using gloves and a sponge.

and your done!

hope this helps. if you need clarification just ask and i can do some more tutorials!
