Introduction: Folding Technique That Creates More Space!

Today, traveling is something that most people aspire to do! The thought of exploring a new place that one has never been or simply taking a break from reality is an experience that most look forward to. But as exciting as travel may be, there is one thing that people dread when preparing for their next trip and that is packing their bags.

So why is it that packing bags is something that most people dislike so much? The big culprit of this dread is the challenge of fitting all of one’s clothes in only a bag or two! Thankfully, I know a simple way of folding that will create more room in luggage so that there isn’t any fighting to get the zipper past the pile of forced in clothes.

Step 1:

First, start off by grabbing a t-shirt. Lay the t-shirt flat on a surface such as a table or a bed. Make sure that when the shirt is laid down, any big wrinkles have been smoothed out because once the folding has happened and the shirt has sat, the wrinkles will be set into the shirt requiring ironing.

Step 2:

Next, grab a hold of a sleeve on the shirt. Fold the sleeve over the front of the shirt. Repeat this process with the second sleeve. When the sleeves have been folded in, the shirt as a whole should be in the shape of a box.

Step 3:

Once the sleeves have been folded in, grab both corners at the bottom of the shirt. Holding the corners, roll the bottom hem upward so that approximately 2 inches of the inside of the shirt is now facing the outside. This should create something that resembles a pocket on both the front and the back of the t-shirt.

Step 4:

Afterward, grab the right side of the shirt and fold it over the other half as if folding a piece of paper. Make sure that the sides of the shirt line up with each other.

Step 5:

Now grab the top of the t-shirt and begin to roll it downwards towards the end of the shirt. Keep in mind that during this stage, it is easy to create wrinkles so don’t rush this step if packing an iron is not part of the plan.

Step 6:

Lastly, grab the pocket at the back of the t-shirt and pull it downwards and then around the rolled shirt. This should hold the roll that was created earlier in place so that it doesn’t come undone when handling. A video has been provided to better understand this step.

Step 7:

Repeat this process with the rest of the t-shirts and when finished, place these neatly rolled shirts in the luggage. When the bag is packed, one should come to find that there is more room and that the zipper closes with ease! Worrying about packing is now something of the past!
